About Dr. Yasir Jawaid

Hello, and welcome to my corner of the internet! I'm Dr. Yasir Jawaid, a physician with a passion for storytelling, cultural exploration, and bridging gaps in healthcare understanding. 

Born in Houston, Texas, my life took an early turn when my family moved to Pakistan. I spent my formative years in a small company town in the Sind desert, where I learned the value of community and friendship. Later, we moved to Karachi, a city that ignited my love for vibrant urban environments.

My pursuit of medical education brought me back to the United States, where I've had the privilege of living in diverse regions:

• West Virginia: Where I fell in love with the breathtaking beauty of the Appalachians

• New York City: A metropolis that captured my heart with its unbeatable energy, reminiscent of my beloved Karachi

• Washington, DC: My current home, where I continue to grow both professionally and personally 

As a physician, I've had the opportunity to work with patients and colleagues from all walks of life. This experience has deepened my appreciation for the role of cultural understanding in healthcare and has inspired many of the topics I write about on this blog. 

 When I'm not in the hospital or clinic, you can find me:
